Longhorns, Pumpkins & Pancakes Oh My!!

Friday morning we joined our meet up group in the Stockyards to see the cattle drive, and have lunch. In all the years I've lived here, this was my first time to see this tradition. Here are a few of our memories...

Gus and Jackson....

Riley and Jackson found a great spot to see the steers.

Here they come!!!  What a fun time with friends.

Saturday morning we were up early to enjoy a pancake breakfast, and access to the zoo before it opened to the public.  It was a perfect morning with special treats throughout the park...I think we've started a new tradition!

Yeah, he was this close...no camera zoom.  Jackson was scared, but how cool was it to see a turkey this close.

Checking for any sign of animal movement...

Here comes the train!!!

Love these two!!!

Good morning elephants....Jackson kept making his elephant sound to get there attention.

Feeding the fish and swan..

Relaxing with a full belly full of pumpkins....

Thank You Ft. Worth Zoo for putting this fun event together!! Can't wait to do it again next year!

Family Night Spaghetti Dinner at St. Barnabas

Thursday night Jackson made his 1st school performance debut! Each class sang a song to begin the family night spaghetti dinner. Jackson's class was combined with another 2yr old class and I happy to say there were no tears! Even though he only stood up there, we were so proud of him. Jackson loved the applause his class was given, and he loved watching the other classes perform.

Here are the kids getting in place..

*not the best quality of pics*

Happy Birthday Uncle Chris!

Last night we met the family at Uncle Julio's to celebrate Uncle Chris and Grandpa's birthdays. Jackson picked where we were eating, along with what he and Uncle Chris would eat.

Let's go back a week....

Jackson has wanted to see his Uncle Chris for a while now... he would list off what they would eat (chips/queso and a quesadilla), there would be a cake, and J would help open presents (which was a truck). All of Jackson's wishes were granted, and we had a very fun night...

Here's the truck Jackson mentioned...

Having so much fun...

Boo at the Zoo!

Friday afternoon we met up with our friends Nicki and Zakary for Boo at the Zoo. This was mine and J's first time to go, so we were pretty excited!!! Here's is our afternoon in pictures...

Heave ho here we go....Jackson as 'Jake and the Neverland Pirate!'

A quick stop on the zoo trucks...

Let the trick or treating begin...

Zakary, unlike Jackson was not afraid of the clowns...Love that curly hair underneath that police hat!

Love that sweet face!!!

Radio Disney was playing a "name that tune" game with Disney Jr. shows.  Jackson guessed the Little Einsteins theme correctly and won a prize.  He was so proud of himself...

I love this pic....not really sure what they are looking at.

Spinning the wheel for prizes...

Pumpkins, glorious Pumpkins!
Looking for the perfect one...

Got it!!

On our way out of the zoo we walked through the flamingos, and noticed mama's laying their eggs.  It was amazing to see the flamingos scooping up the dirt into mounds with their beaks, and getting all cozy on top!

Thanks Nicki and Zakary for a fun afternoon!!

A Great Wolf Lodge Birthday Weekend

Our best friends Kristin and her son Zachary invited Jackson and I to the Great Wolf Lodge to celebrate Zachary's 4th birthday. Fun doesn't even seem to describe the time we had...Jackson is still 'howling', not to mention watching the Lodge's promo videos online. Here is a whirl wind wrap up of our overnight stay...Enjoy!

First Stop...Build a Wolf.  Here's is Whiteout the Wolf.

Next...make a wish, and put in inside.

Checking out the Lodge "Pack" of characters...

Any time you eat, the kids receive wolf ears, and tails!  J loved his ears!!

J giving us his howl...

Time for birthday presents...Zach's Nana was sweet enough to get Jackson a little something to open too!!!

We got Z a cool spyglass...

After dinner....time to trick or treat around the hotel...the boys loved it!!
