Record Snow Fall, and a Power Outage

What a winter Texas has had this year!! A record breaking 11 inches fell last Thursday, giving all of us a winter wonderland. Unfortunately, with the snow came broken trees, and loss of power. Our power went out Thursday night at 9:30, (during the OC housewives...haha) and came back on Friday afternoon about 1pm. I think we were among the lucky ones, since a friend of mine just had power restored last night! Here are some pictures I snapped during our power loss....

Projects, Furniture, and Movement!

What a week! Last Tuesday our brand new couches were brought to us by the nicest Haverty's delivery men. They were in and out of my house in 15 minutes...I was amazed! Being that Matthew was in Washington last week, he came home to see our living room transformed. (sort of) This past weekend we decided to continue our bathroom 'makeover.' I found this great fabric at Joann's, and thought it would great with our color scheme.....so here is our new window treatment.... This picture really looks dark, but you can still see the sofas. Next purchase...a coffee table.

This is the best part of the sectional....it's called a cuddler. Two people can snuggle on this corner, or you can curl up by yourself. This is my fav!!

A couple weeks ago I felt the baby move for the first time, and since then he has moved a LOT! It truly is the best feeling, and I can't wait Matthew to feel it. He tried, but no success. I know that in the next few weeks he will feel this little guy move.

I "Heart" My Heart!

A big thank you to Kelli for introducing me to this 'idea' website. She made this heart as well, took a picture of it, posted it on her blog, and I fell in love with it. I had to make on myself. So millions of pins and circles later, here is the end result that now hangs on my front door!!!

1/2 Way There

I can't believe I am 20 weeks!!! Time is really flying...time to get going on the nursery. Yesterday my mom and Mamas (my grandma) joined me for my third sonogram.....they really got to see this baby move. Thanks to the Coke I drank just before my appt. Right now is weighs 13 ounces, has a strong heartbeat, and is growing right on target. Here are two of the many pictures I brought home with me....

Here is the best news...I was at Costco this morning, and I felt my little boy move for the FIRST time!!! It was such an awesome feeling, and I can't wait for more!

We're Having A....BOY!!!

Wow...I'm still in shock, but super excited. Now comes the fun stuff....names, baby room colors, bedding, and the list goes on. I can't wait to get started!!

First Blog...Happy 2010!

So I finally took the plunge....had to see what these blogs were all about. I have to say I love it so far!


As you know, Matthew and I are expecting our first baby June 18th, and we are both so excited. I thought creating a blog would be a fun way to keep everyone updated on our family. Right now I am in my 16 week, and feel better than I expected. I go for my 2nd sonogram January 4th, and we are crossing our fingers we find out what we are having. Here is a picture from my first sonogram at 8 weeks....
